A major win for ocean science and coastal resilience: the University of South Florida's College of Marine Science has secured an $8.5 million, five-year NOAA award to advance the work of its Center for Ocean Mapping and Innovative Technologies (COMIT).

The initiative brings together research, navigation safety, coastal resilience, and responsible use of AI—strengthening USF's role in tackling challenges facing Florida and coastal communities across the Southeast. Congrats to USF and the COMIT team on this significant investment in ocean innovation!
