The Innovation District is a test bed for smart city technology. Over the last two years the District along with national and local partners has begun four proof of concept projects: smart lighting, Guardians of the Gulf (STEAM education), smart intersection, and digital inclusion. On March 3, 2021 the team shared the progress of these projects and their aspirations for the future. Kudos to everyone for their work on these projects and a fantastic showcase!

The St. Petersburg Ocean Team is the premier consortium for marine science and related research, education and entrepreneurship in the Southeast. The Team is comprised of over 20 complementary firms, government entities, and institutions that are located near one another, many in the St. Pete Innovation District, that draw advantages from their proximity as well as the similarities between their workforce and vendor needs.
