The St. Petersburg Innovation District is hitting double digits! On April 10th, the district will celebrate 10 years of sparking bold ideas, fueling research, and powering economic growth across the city and beyond.
Over the past decade, the district has driven significant growth, generating more than $3 billion in economic impact and supporting over 10,000 jobs. Leading sectors like life sciences and marine sciences have fueled this momentum, with triple-digit growth and thousands of new jobs since 2016.
This milestone shows what’s possible when a community comes together to innovate.
This anniversary will be marked by the 10x10 Celebration, an awards-show-inspired evening recognizing the stories behind the initiatives that have powered the district’s momentum — from transformative research and community partnerships to innovative projects that continue to shape the future of St. Petersburg. The 10 outstanding honorees are:
1. Founders of the Innovation District
2. Duke Energy
3. Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital
4. Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital
5. The Dalí Museum
6. University of South Florida St. Petersburg
7. The Maritime and Defense Technology Hub
8. Innovation District Master Plan
9. spARK Labs by ARK Invest
10. Florida Institute of Oceanography
Red carpet, cocktails, and stories of impact await at the Johns Hopkins All Children’s Research and Education Building. As the district looks to its next decade, the anniversary promises a night of celebration, inspiration, and a reminder that the future of innovation is just getting started.
