State of Science 2018

The St. Petersburg Innovation District and the region are the professional home to hundreds of scientists, doctors, technologists and innovators.  These individuals are leaders in their fields world-wide but are often unknown locally.  They are working to solve childhood illnesses, maintain the oceans, and develop new technology.

The Innovation District hosted a special event on October 10, 2018 to showcase these individuals and their stories - the inaugural annual State of Science. There was a series of eight fast-paced, brief presentations focused on the fields of Marine Science, Life Science and the intersections between them.

The reception following the program gave attendees the rare opportunity to continue the conversations with the presenters.  This event was modeled after the City of St Pete’s annual State of the City and State of the Economy.

The purpose of this evening is to raise awareness of what is happening in our community, generate questions and new ideas, and hopefully spur future innovation.

The video is no longer available for this event. If you have any questions about the presentations please contact abarlow@stpeteinnovationdistrict.com.
