The response to the recent fire at the University of South Florida College of Marine Science has been a testament to the strength of St. Petersburg. Research institutions, community organizations, local businesses, alumni, and residents quickly stepped up to help scientists continue their work by donating resources, offering temporary space, and contributing financially. Through the USF Foundation's Marine Science Operating Fund, nearly $500,000 has been raised to support immediate recovery efforts, with major gifts including support from Duke Energy and countless contributions from across the community.
