We did it, St. Pete!

Success! St. Petersburg made history this morning as the first formation flight of electric aircraft took off from Albert Whitted Airport.

‍

The St. Pete Innovation District is incredibly proud to have been part of this milestone moment. We want to recognize and thank Joby Aviation, BETA TECHNOLOGIES, City of St. Petersburg, St. Petersburg Area Chamber of Commerce, Friends of Albert Whitted Airport, St. Petersburg Museum of History, St. Petersburg Downtown Partnership, St. Petersburg Economic Development Corporation, and our very own Alison Barlow for helping make today possible.

‍

While electric aircraft took to the skies, Aurora connected the experience on the ground. One of the Maritime and Defense Technology Hub's longest standing tenants, Aurora, provided Starlink connectivity and equipment to support today's demonstration.

‍

Thank you, Aurora Borealis Networks, and congratulations to everyone who helped make history in St. Pete today!
