Keeping Tampa Bay Healthy

Alison Barlow moderated “Keeping Tampa Bay Healthy: Medical Research and Innovation Projects” at the ULI Tampa Bay Trends Conference at Armature Works.

The panel brought together leaders advancing the future of healthcare, research, and innovation across the region:

• Tampa General Hospital

• Moffitt Cancer Center / Speros by Moffitt

Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital

• BayCare Health System / St. Joseph’s Hospital South / Hospital Manatee

The conversation explored what it truly takes to build lasting innovation ecosystems — from research investment and talent pipelines to infrastructure and regional partnerships.

One idea stood out: the future of healthcare innovation in Tampa Bay will not be driven by a single institution alone. It will depend on the region’s ability to collaborate, coordinate, and embrace a little friendly competition to move the entire community forward.

As Tampa Bay continues to grow as a hub for medical research and innovation, these conversations are helping shape what’s next.
