State of Science 2019

The St. Petersburg Innovation District and the region are the professional home to hundreds of scientists, doctors, technologists and innovators.  These individuals are leaders in their fields world-wide but are often unknown locally.  They are working to solve childhood illnesses, maintain the oceans, and develop new technology.

The Innovation District hosted a special event on September 24, 2019 to showcase these individuals and their stories - the 2nd annual State of Science. There was a series of eight fast-paced, brief presentations each representing one of the fields in STEAM - Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math.

The reception following the program gave attendees the rare opportunity to continue the conversations with the presenters.  This event was modeled after the City of St Pete’s annual State of the City and State of the Economy.

The purpose of this evening is to raise awareness of what is happening in our community, generate questions and new ideas, and hopefully spur future innovation.
